Hannah Kadin, a current undergraduate student that is writing an honor thesis on speculative fiction about environmental catastrophes, will join the PhD program in Comparative Literature at Northwestern University.

Summer 2024: COLT 57.10/ASCL 70.18*Social Revolutions East and West: Japan and America in the 1960s. Professor James Dorsey's research probes the intersection of culture and politics—and fosters a creative approach to translation in this course.

Professor Lada Kolomiyets, translations of Halyna Kruk, Lviv, Ukraine and two other women-poets' work were published online by international poetry journal and platform Versopolis.

Alyissa Noseworthy '24, minor in translation, is awarded a Fulbright. She is majoring in romance studies, French and Spanish. Noseworthy will be teaching English in Belgium and hopes to be "honing my skills as an ESL teacher and learning more about the Walloon language and culture."

Halyna Kruk gave a Zoom lecture on March 1, 2024. Halyna Kruk, Ivan Franko National University, Lviv, Ukraine, Ukrainian scholar and award-winning author Halyna Kruk will join us from Ukraine to offer a woman's voice of the experience of the war. After graduating from Dartmouth, I went to the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and completed my doctoral degree in Comparative Literature. I am currently the Louise Hartman Schewe and Karl Schewe Professor at the University of Illinois Springfield.
