After the Armistice of Sept. 8, 1943, the area around Porta San Paolo in Rome became the city's primary locus for honoring the Resistance; later plaques and memorials preserved layers of remembrance that extended well beyond World War II. Prof. Jewiss's talk will explore this dynamic memoryscape, highlighting its revisionary and expansive perspective.
