Larissa Hebert

I currently teach Advanced Placement Language and Composition (including being a reader for the AP Language exam) and Honors English at Rice Memorial High School, a private Catholic school in Burlington, VT.  This will be my 25th year of teaching.  I am also the Board Secretary of Sundog Poetry, a nonprofit whose mission is "promote poetry for the enrichment of our cultural lives: to support Vermont poets in their development through workshops, readings, and publication; and to cultivate in Vermont audiences of all ages a love and appreciation of this art through a variety of poetry programming."  In this role, I help to organize youth programming such as the Youth Poetry Summit and the VT Youth Poet Laureate competition.  My Comparative Literature degree provided me with the experiential background in both German and French needed for teaching.  Furthermore, I was a teacher's assistant for several classes, which instilled in me a desire to share my knowledge and guide students in their writing.  Since 2018, I have been an Admissions Ambassador for Dartmouth College.
