Marcus Pyle, D'18 has been awarded an NYU Make a Difference award for his ground-breaking program ChamberWorks, which he founded in 2010 to serve public school children in his hometown of Garland, TX.
Every year four students, faculty, or staff at NYU are awarded this recognition for having "made a profound and lasting impact for the better on the city, region, nation, or globe."
Marcus Pyle is the Founder and CEO of ChamberWorks (est. 2010)—a chamber music-based classical music institute that Pyle founded in his hometown, Dallas, to serve economically disadvantaged, largely BIPOC middle and high school students. During a time of educational budget cuts and axed arts programs—especially in the wake of COVID-19—Pyle's initiative works fearlessly to support students on a path of self-advocacy, joy, academic success, and informed citizenship.
